Our volunteer very much enjoyed watching the architectural
style of domes of the palace, commonly described as Indo-Saracenic, with
blends of the Hindu, Mughal, Rajput and Gothic styles. It is a three-story
stone structure, with marble domes, and has a 145-foot five-story tower. The
palace is surrounded by a large garden.

After the visit to the
palace, we had a South Indian traditional lunch on a banana leaf. After lunch, we
visited Devaraja Market which is a popular tourist destination of Mysore
because of the strong local flavor of the shopping experience there. The city
authorities have built a spacious plaza in front of the market, which becomes
quite crowded in the evenings. It is huge market for the wholesaler and our volunteer
bought some fancy outfits from the boutique and enjoyed a lot to see all kinds
of fruits, flowers, groceries and vegetables available at one place. The locals
refer to this market as the Open Super Market.

The second day was very devotional because we visited Chamundi temple at Chamundi hill.
