I am Manjula Tallalli from Haveri. I got an opportunity to work as a Team Leader for FSL-India’s 22nd Happy Move Camp, which was organised at Kuruvandlapalli village, Anantapur district, from 15th<\/sup>-24th January 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp was held as a CSR initiative of Kia Motors, with South Korean\nvolunteers and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University students of Anantapur.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camp had 4 groups and I worked with team B. It had 20 Korean\nvolunteers and 4 Indian volunteers. The camp began with the orientation of the volunteers.\nDuring the orientation, we had an introduction and lots of group bonding\nactivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we entered the camp site – Kuruvandlapalli village on the first day,\nthe schoolchildren and teachers warmly welcomed us with flowers, which made us\nfeel very happy. We had some great moments with the children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had different activities in school such as the renovation of classrooms, inside and outside the school, wall painting, black board painting and made colourful educational drawings at school, which made the children feel happy. At the school, we also had constructed hand wash basins and 3- compartment garbage bins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Korean volunteers, along with the Indian students, conducted\ncreative teaching activities for the children such as mask making, songs,\nname tag making, crafts and dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the community, we constructed toilet-cum-bathrooms for 2 needy\nfamilies, and also conducted a community survey to know the problem and\nsituation of families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Anantapur Goverment ITI college, we made a bike stand shelter, constructed\nflooring, and painted the poles of the shelter. For most of us, it was a\nnew experience working on construction activities, but we enjoyed them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we had the Kia Motors Green Light project launching ceremony and later, the volunteers performed cultural programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, it was an amazing experience to work with the South Korean volunteers, and we had a lot of intercultural learnings. Finally, the Happy Move Camp was filled with a lot of happy moments, enjoyment, fun and we felt proud about our work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
