FSL-India\nparticipated in India\u2019s very first GivingTuesday, which kicked off Daan Utsav\n2017, where people all across our country entered into the spirit of giving and\nshared happiness with the local communities by contributing either in cash,\nkind or by service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian\nOil Corporation very generously provided free stall space to NGOs at Bangalore\nto sell their products and create awareness for the organization. FSL-India\u2019s\nstall towards the support of the migrant children of Kundapur sold paper\nproducts made by the program participants of the organisation\u2019s Centre of\nExperiential Living (CEL) at Shettrakatte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nstall was manned from 3rd<\/sup> \u2013 5th<\/sup> October, by\nstudents from Christ University and also some of FSL-India\u2019s program\nparticipants. Here\u2019s what they have to say about their experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a\npart of our curriculum training, we the students of Institute of Management,\nChrist University, Bengaluru started our Social Concern Project with the team\nof FSL-India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During\nDaan Utsav 2017, we were given the task of fundraising for the poor children of\nmigrant labourers who are working on construction sites in Kundapur,\nUdupi district, Karnataka. The objective for the day was to sell the\neco-friendly handmade products made by the program participants at CEL,\nKundapur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nchoose an Indian Oil petrol pump in Jayanagar, as our destination to reach out\nto the public of Bengaluru. We targeted the customers who came for filling\npetrol. Jayanagar being a very busy area in Bengaluru, we got lots of\nprospects. We were able sell almost all the stuff which we had taken\nwith us to sell, i.e. pen stands, visiting card holders, clipboards and photo\nframes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was,\noverall, a very nice experience for our entire team to do real-time field\nselling and also interact with people directly and discuss social issues within\nBengaluru City. We also got to know about the viewpoints of the local public\nrelated to various common issues, along with some effective solutions for the\nsame. At the end of the day, it was a very good feeling to have contributed\nsomething for underprivileged children, who are in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nstaff and other volunteers from FSL-India were very helpful and cooperative,\nwhich made us feel comfortable and were also very effective in selling the\nproducts and raising the funds. We look forward to more such opportunities in\nfuture, where we can be the part of such events and can contribute to a social\ncause.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
