On Friday 29th<\/sup>\nSeptember, in Kundapura FSL India- CEL, staff and volunteers, totally 20 members\nparticipated in Ayudha Pooja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did we\ncelebrate it in CEL?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEL is\nCommunity based center and FSL India is a non-political, non-religious &\nnon-governmenalt organization. We are an institution, which promotes Pease\nthrough cultural exchange.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nis reason why we celebrate all types of festivals in order to celebrate all\ncultures around. In this way we celebrated Ayudha Pooja in CEL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayudha Pooja\npart of the Navaratri festival, a Hindu festival Which is celebrated at\nKarnataka state in India. Ayudha\nPooja\u2019s name itself suggests about worshiping tools & vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Ayudha puja was\nperformed on the day prior to Goddess Chamundeshwari\u2019s war on demon Mahishasura\nand all her weapons were worshipped before she left for the war. And the day\nthat follows is the celebration of her victory in her war over the demon, then\nthey called Vijayadashami indicating her victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domestic tools and transport\nvehicles and are washed, decorated and worshipped in this day. It indeed\nis a visual treat to witness the clean and colourfully decorated vehicles drive\nthe roads looking bright and nice on the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some houses, where culture is more deeply\nfollowed, items such as home keys, television or computers can also be\nworshipped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the pooja moment, we use incense sticks,\ncolourful flowers, lemons and coconuts. All items will receive some drops of\ncoconut water after opening it. They will also receive the smell of incense and\nlemons will be placed under the vehicle wheels in order to remove the bad\nenergy. When the vehicles are started, they will squeeze the lemons. Also a\ncoconut will be smashed onto the ground in the name of removing all bad energy\nagain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
