On 21ST<\/sup> January 2019, FSL-India\u2019s volunteers\nMelina and Emil and the Sea Turtle Conservation Contact Person Venkatesh visited\nthe Primary School at Maravanthe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 We had made a presentation on the hazards faced by the sea turtles in the month of December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children were now participating in a drawing competition to recall the knowledge they gained from the presentation. Within the Sea Turtle Conservation project, the volunteers brought some drawing sheets and colour pencils for all the children and rewards for the winners of the competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the competition was only conducted with 7th<\/sup> Std children, their assignment was to draw the dangers for the sea turtles from the other marine life. After 1 \u00bd hours, the children finished their drawings, so the volunteers could collect and judge the images. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a hard decision for the FSL-India team to decide which 2 pictures were the best. But, with the given criteria such as drawing skills, colour settings, creativity and the implementation of the given topic, they chose 2 winners. The first place received a geometrical set and the second place was honoured with a sketch book.  The students will also participate in a clay competition in the following weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two days later, on the 23rd<\/sup>, the Sea Turtle Conservation\nProject was extended by a new volunteer named Victoria. She conducted a drawing\ncompetition at Kota Padukere School for 5th<\/sup> – 7th<\/sup> Stds.\nThe students drew wonderful turtle pictures and were rewarded for the best pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day, the FSL-India volunteers went to the Bejjadi\nMoodu School. It is a small Government Primary School, with not so many\nchildren. As on the day before, the volunteers split up the 4th<\/sup>, 5th<\/sup>\nand 7th<\/sup> Stds. The 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> standards drew\nsea turtles and the 7th<\/sup> standard drew sketches on the dangers to the\nsea turtles. The volunteers collected the children\u2019s work and selected the 2\nbest drawings  in both classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
