{"id":10491,"date":"2016-04-07T15:34:45","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T10:04:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/?p=10491"},"modified":"2016-04-07T15:34:45","modified_gmt":"2016-04-07T10:04:45","slug":"community-toilet-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/community-toilet-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Toilet Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fsl India is working for eradicating the habit of Open Defecation by promoting Toilets through CSR- corporate social responsibility initiatives to the community BPL- Below Poverty Line households, who could not really afford to construct.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10492 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/cr.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteering-India\" width=\"284\" height=\"170\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In March 2016, Sengadu panchayat village of Sri\u00a0perumbudur block, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu- benefitted with 10 Toilets promotion through AT &amp; D (Appropriate Technology and Development) project as Hyundai Steel CSR activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Sengadu village, for most of the people Open defecation\u00a0is the practice and not into a designated\u00a0toilet, because of lack in resource due to poverty. A preference for open defecation behavior may be due to traditional cultural practices or lack of access to toilets, or both.<a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/IMG_5530.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10493 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/IMG_5530.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India\" width=\"285\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a>Through Baseline analysis it was observed that 42% of women include children affected with\u00a0public health\u00a0problems. The main reason behind that is people are defecating in fields, path ways, rivers and open trenches in close proximity to the living space of others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As an Intervention the 10 economically poor background families were benefitted.
