PROGRESS OF THE NURSERY IN OUR TRAINING CENTRE

Three months ago we started this activity with great excitement as we were starting a nursery in our
training centre in Kundapur. This means we are raising the trees and plants we need to plant here
since they are just a seed.

Since that day, many volunteers have participated in nursery management activities such as filtering
sand and soil, adding manure, filling in the nursery bags and sowing the seeds and cuttings.
In our nursery we are growing pepper and papaya plants, cashews and flower and decorative plants.
However, it has not been easy as all over these three months our baby plants have also faced
different challenges like heavy rains or even the attack of hungry monkeys.

Now we can say our nursery plants are properly protected from animals (like monkeys, peacocks
and cows) and thanks to the rain, sunlight and our work we hope to tranplant them into the ground
within few months.
