Our experience- Ploy and Nut!

Our experience- Ploy and Nut!

My name is Ploy. Here is my friend, NThailand, we were working as a volunteer in tent school project for 2 months, now we are finished.

Let us tell our stories in India.

First we had orientation at Training center. We both can speak little English so we quite shy at first. 2-3 day after we were more confident because all the staff here are very friendly. The orientation week has many interesting activities and information that we should know. It taught us a lot. The best thing we have in this orientation week is we feel so close to the staff and our mind-set for India has changed. After One week of orientation we moved to host family

My house is in Uppinkote. It’s a big green house cover with many coconut trees. We have 3 people in this house. Host mother Mezi and two host sisters Adaline and Melissa. Host mother can’t speak English so much but I like to talk with her while I help her washing dishes. And her cooking is amazing! I feel really enjoy guessing what’s the next meal she will cook for me. Two host sisters are much confident and speak English very well. I love watching them dancing and singing together!

Nut’s house is not too far from my house. He lives in Santekatte with the family there are 4 members in the family. His host father is Timothi and host mother is Maria. Host brother is Toystan, he is now studying in engineering same like our-experience-ploy-and-nut-2us. So we shared some experiences to him. Host sister is Thanisha, she look so shy to me at first. But she is cute and funny. She is always telling jokes to everyone try to make them feel relax. The weird thing is me and Nut’s host families were cousin! They know each other! That’s surprising me

Furthermore, we took part in a social project for two month which was working in a Tent school. There were around 50 children (age 2–13) as well as one teacher and two German volunteers. We taught Basic English, math, introduced songs and games to children, in the beginning it was very hard to communicate with the children as they don’t speak English. But we learn a lot in Telugu language with our student because almost of them don’t know English. So if we want to teach and play with them we need to learn some word of their language. We tried making the children say Thank you, Sorry to each others. One day we heard 1 of children said sorry to another. Though it’s just 1 or 2 time but it’s make us feel warm. 1 of the children name Chingu. At first he didn’t know how to plus but now he can do that and minus also. Mohan is smart boy though he didn’t come to tent school every day. He knows how to multiply now. We have worked with 1 Indian teacher and 2 German volunteers. They are very nice and friendly, they supported us all the time. The children are friendly and cute. We like to play with them. I feel so close to them.

Through these opportunities we got to know a lot about India, its religions, dishes, system, people, and way of life, social behaviors and a little bit of language. It is very fascinating being here and we have made so many memorable experiences in such a short time that it simultaneously feels like we have been here for years or only a few weeks since time really does fly. We thank FSL India very much for these great experiences. We are surely not forgetting this great experience.
