Case Study: One of the Interesting and Useful activity promoted during the Happy Move Camp is “Kitchen garden”. It is very helpful for the noon meal kitchen to get the vegetables in their premises itself. The Kitchen Garden formed during the 14th HMC, without doubt, is one of the greatest such initiative. Maintenance is the biggest challenge after the Happy Move Camp. But beyond the challenge, the Organizer Mr. Vasu and helper Ms. Baby of the noon meal kitchen take care of the garden very well in Vellarithangal.

  

Mr. Vasu and Ms. Baby involve the NREGA members to take the weeds also once in every three weeks. The FSL coordinators do a periodic follow up and instruct them on the maintenance of the good garden. The garden looks so green with the grown up ladies finger plants, banana , lemon and curry leaves tree….The organizer said that they also use natural manure for the plants.

The children parliament formed and insisted to involve the children (environment committee) in ensuring the maintenance of the garden.  The garden severs the nutrition to the children as the children provides nutrition to the plants through ensuring its green and healthy growth. Thus the Mutual Health suppliant progresses fulfilling the task of HMC.
