FSL India hosts workers at our Centre for Experiential Living (CEL), Kundapur

On Sunday, 3rd May 2020, FSL India’s President, Rakesh Soans received a call from the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ACP), Kundapur that a group of workers from Telangana were returning to Kundapur, their home town. The group of 29 people consisting of 10 children, 4 women and 15 men were working in Telangana as hotel staff and other occupations.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to undergo quarantine for the required period and now that they have completed this, were on their way home to Baindur, which is approx. 75 kms away from Kundapur.

Our dedicated staff led by Venkatesh Moodgeri, received the group at CEL, who arrived in 4 batches around midnight. They were taken to their accommodation and made comfortable for what was left of the night.

The Siddhi Vinayaka temple very kindly offered to provide meals for the workers.

On 4th May, the group were then taken through an Orientation by Venkatesh and the CEL team. They were given an overview of FSL India and all our programmes. In addition, all the required information regarding the rules and regulations for their stay at CEL was provided to them.

In the afternoon, doctors from the Government hospital at Kundapur visited CEL and talked with each member of the group to collect health related information.

The travelers settled down at our CEL and enjoyed the soothing ambiance, amidst the fruit trees and other greenery, looking forward to a good night’s rest. Tomorrow is another day.
