Chennai – capital of Tamil Nadu was recently hit severely by flooding. The entire city was washed out and many people have lost their homes and belongings and even had to struggle for food and basic needs for more than week. The entire city was disconnected from other areas of Tamil Nadu.

The rain not only affected Chennai, it also affected the nearby districts namely Kanchipuram, Cuddalore and Thiruvallur. Vallakottai is one of the villages in Kancheepuram district that was affected by rain and people lost their houses, cattle and livelihood over the last month and struggled for food and basic amenities.

On 09/12/2015 in the Vallakottai Village we at FSL-INDIA Chennai Facility along with Hyundai Motors India organised the flood relief event and distributed materials, blankets, cloths, mats and water bottles. It was mobilized from various places around Tamilnadu and distributed to the vulnerable people. About 403 families benefited from the event.
