DVP : SCOPE FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

It is very difficult to describe the “Women Empowerment” in one word very elaborately. It is quite complex to explain it as it includes the various aspects – social, economical, behavioural, attitudinal etc… Still as we all know, the economical independence of the women is noted as the main component of Women Empowerment mainly in Indian Setting.

The above mentioned is very true with the women in Mevalurkuppam, a Dream Village, promoted by the collaborative efforts of Hyundai India and FSL India. Under the project, the women were boosted up by the life skill training such as pickle making, papat making, candle making etc. The Indian Bank also visualizing the change in the whole scenario of the village encouraged the women group with the loan amount of 5,00,000/-. Now the enthusiastic women group ( group of 20 women) started a business of Pickle Making in a public building provided by Panchayath. Started with Pickle Making, their enthusiasm kicked up additionally starting a small canteen providing lunch to the public.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Witnessing the change stimulated among the women, they are being encouraged by Hyundai promised to provide them small infrastructure for the unit. Above all, Hyundai and FSL India are also into streamlining the business into BRANDING and into the mass production. The enthusiasm just not stopped here but spreads into the other groups as well into the process of emergence of other units such as papat making, candle making etc.

YES, as A.P.J. Abdul Kalam put is “Dream, Dream Dream….Dreams transform into thoughts; And thoughts result in action:, the process of Dream Village into Reality is slowly underway….!
