Cultural Event- Bangalore region

In the month of October 2016, FSL India LTV Bangalore region organized for a Cultural Event {CE} at Mysore and Chennai zone under different Theme.

Mysore

Mysore: Theme: Religion and History: In the Mysore zone there was only one volunteer who participated in the CE. They began their journey from the meeting point and visited Sri Nimishamba Temple which is considered as the incarnation of Goddess Parvathi, the consort of Lord Shiva. In this place Ganjam is considered as a holy place. Muktharaja of soma Vamsha performed penance at Nimishamba Temple. Afternoon they left from the Sri Nimishamba temple and went to visit Tipu Sultan death place, who is also known as the Tiger of Mysore. In the afternoon they had lunch together after which our Coordinator had 1 to 1 talk with volunteers about project and host family.

Chennai: Theme: Nature: In Chennai zone also there was only one volunteer who chennaiparticipated in the CE. They began their journey from the meeting point and went to Arignar Anna Zoological Park (Vandaloor Zoo). Arignar Anna Zoological park is the largest zoological garden in India. The zoo houses 2,553 species of flora and fauna across 1,265 acres (512 ha). As of 2012 the park houses around 1,500 wild species, including 46 endangered species, in its 160 enclosures. In the afternoon they had lunch together after which our Coordinator had 1 to 1 talk with volunteers about project and host family.

Feedback from Volunteers

– I enjoyed the cultural event very much. Sri Rangapatna was a really nice experience today. We saw a lot of different places Nimishamba temple, Tip death place and one small palace. Had a delicious food with my coordinator, I am sure I would have missed without this cultural program. Thank You.

– It was very nice and I saw lots of animal in this place and enjoyed a day with green place and with my FSL Coordinator.
