In the beginning of February, FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living (CEL), Kundapur received “new” mattresses for their accommodation.
FSL-India organised a cultural trip for the HMC group members on the 5th day of the program. In this cultural visit, we took the Happy Movers to a historical site and also visited the metropolitan city of Bangalore.
On 30th January, once again, FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living, Kundapur conducted a session on Health & Hygiene for adolescents at Shettrakatte, as well as career guidance in the medical field.
On 19th January, under the leadership of Manjesh BM, Field Officer, and Manjunath B, CEL Coordinator, FSL-India organised a plastic waste collection rally jointly with the Neralakatte Gram Panchayat, to create awareness on Plastic Waste Management.
Beekeeping or apiculture is one of the world’s oldest occupations and has been in existence since antiquity. It is relatively inexpensive and hugely rewarding, as the benefits are many and varied. FSL-India decided to engage in beekeeping due to the increasing global problem caused by non-organic agriculture, i.e. the loss of pollinators, which are, just as the targeted pests, killed by the pesticides used.
In the month of January 2018, FSL-India LTV Bangalore region organized for a Cultural Event (CE) at Pondicherry, Kanchipuram, Mysore, and Bangalore zones, under different themes.
The LTV monthly cultural visit was held on 18th January 2018 with Alexian, Lola, and Eugenie who work on the Sea Turtle Conservation and Sustainable Agriculture projects at FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living, Kundapur.
On 17th January, a team of 6 members from SELCO Ltd, Bangalore and SELCO Foundation, Kundapur visited FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living to discuss the construction of portable housing for the local Tent families and also, future projects with FSL-India.
To start the new year, on the 2nd of January, FSL-India conducted another Community Training at our Centre for Experiential Living (CEL), Kundapura for women from the surrounding locality.
