15th February 2018 was indeed a memorable day for FSL-India. Our organisation and Bosch India signed an agreement for the implementation of a project on the overall development of selected government/BBMP schools in Bangalore.
Renovation work for Rs 5 lakhs was carried out at the Zilla Parishad Govt. High School, Rapthadu village, Anantapur.
On Day 4 of the Happy Move Camp at Anantapur, South Korean students performed the traditional South Korean Gangnam style of dance, along with their traditional music, which was greatly appreciated by the audience, who cheered them enthusiastically.
After the cultural visit to Nandi Hills and the Silicon City of Bangalore, led by the FSL-India team, the Happy Movers took up the challenge to work at the 2nd block of Penukonda, Anantapur district. They had a warm welcoming ceremony from the schoolchildren and teachers.
FSL-India organised a cultural trip for the HMC group members on the 5th day of the program. In this cultural visit, we took the Happy Movers to a historical site and also visited the metropolitan city of Bangalore.
It was the final day of the project at Rapadu village – the day for completion of all the activities initiated in the village by KIA Motors Company, South Korea, Hyundai Motors India Foundation, Better World Organization (BWO), South Korea and FSL-India.
The 20th Happy Move Camp (HMC) is in full swing, gathering steam along the way. ‘10tv’, a popular Telugu News Channel in India which gives continuous news updates, interviewed some of the Korean and Indian ‘Happy Movers’ and also C Doreswamy, Joint Director of FSL-India and the prime ‘Happy Mover’ of the 20th HMC.
On 1st and 2nd February, the FSL-India team and all the Korean and Indian volunteers started out from the hotel to the village in the morning and continued the renovation work, i.e. construction of toilets, construction of a platform for vessel wash, hand wash, painting and drawing educational pictures.
The second day of the 20th Happy Move Camp started with team building exercises conducted by the FSL-India team, before starting the work.
The 20th Happy Move Camp commenced at Anantapur from 30th of January 2018. Totally, 80 Korean volunteers and 16 Indian volunteers from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University participated in the project.
FSL-India is well-known for the Happy Move Camp organized and implemented every year, in collaboration with national and international partners – KIA Motors Company, South Korea, Hyundai Motors India Foundation and BWO-Better World Organization, South Korea.
