Date: 6th to 10th April 2015.                                 Venue:  FSL-India, Wilson Garden – Bangalore

In the month of April, FSL India hosted 09 Long Term Volunteers from 4 different countries (France, Germany Sweden and Japan).  Everyday evening we have organised different events for the exchange of Intercultural learning. First day was traditional Indian welcome event, then all the volunteers had chance to have Henna. On second day volunteers had the opportunity to test their skills by working in a project for the half day during the week. Volunteers were also presented the facts and figures of their countries to the school children during “Country Presentation” session. They had chance to saw the Cultural dance “Baratanatya”.

Volunteer’s feedback on Orientation week:

  • Excellent atmosphere we were all happy to meet and know each other amazing group.
  • The group atmosphere was very familiar to me it was very interesting to get to know new people from different countries and of country do join the glad that I have met you.
  • Very nice very convivial and friendly great FSL team as well.
  • Very nice the co-coordinators are very nice and I had a lot of fun.
  • Very good & it was a intercultural learning from the other volunteers.
  • Be friendly yes I have learn a lot of precious information for my future life behavior and safety in India.
  • Yes for sure I have been reassured about my pears I could discover for about Indian culture about mistakes that have to be avoided it was as well great to have a language initiation to start discussions with our host family and project co-worker.
  • The experience with the street children was unforgettable fears and culture explanations are as well essential cooking was as well really for.
