Samsung’ Global Acceleration Program 2018 for India kicked off on 6th August at the campus of IIITB, Bangalore. The participants of the selected Startups enthusiastically registered and were warmly welcomed by IITB and Samsung’s 45 member team of mentors, creative team, the staff of Better World, Korea and FSL-India.
Prof. Ramesh Sunderaraman, IIITB’s CEO was the MC for the day. The program began with the opening remarks by Prof. Sadagopan, Director of IIITB and Dr. Subramanya Mayya Director, SAIT INDIA. Ms. Jeehyun Yoon spoke about Samsung’s CSR initiative and their Employee Volunteer Program and Mr Pranveer Rathore introduced the program to the participants. Next, there was a staff introduction, where FSL-India’s team was also introduced to the Startups.
This was followed by a round of introductions for the mentoring team and the mentees, followed by an ice-breaking session.
The members of the Startups and the Samsung employee volunteers met each other informally. Each startup presented their organisation and after each session, questions thrown at them were answered.
After an eventful and exciting day, it was time to head back to the hotel and prepare the next day of the program. Keep watching this space for more updates from FSL-India.
