Last Sunday, we – FSL-India’s CEL staff – were invited by Nazeer, a friend, and supporter of FSL-India, to a marriage. So we went to Maavinakatte to celebrate this blessed event.
It was a nice cultural exchange because for some of us, it was the first marriage in India and for all of us, it was the first Muslin marriage. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, especially the food, which was excellent. A specialty of Muslin marriages is, that there is also non-vegetarian food. So we ate mutton, chicken, and of course, a lot of rice with sambar.
After lunch, we congratulated the engaged couple, took some photos with them and also with their friends and family. In the end, we enjoyed ourselves, celebrated a lot, and were very thankful for the invitation.
