Greetings from FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living, Kundapur! As part of our training goal of empowering and educating all our staff and volunteers, we had a new training this month, conducted by Mr. C. Doreswamy, our Joint Director.
The first day, when I stepped into CEL I had a “WOW” impression seeing nature soo close.
The 28th International Youth Forum was a week-long program that conglomerated individuals from various backgrounds, nationalities, and ideas to address the very relevant issue of strengthening regional cooperation by youth exchange.
When I first got to Dharamshala to meet up with my FSL-India volunteer group, I had no idea what to expect. I had read about the culture and the project we would be working on, but nothing could have prepared me for the experience I would have during my stay there.
FSL-India organized a work camp from 11th-24th September 2017 at our Centre for Experiential Living- Kundapura. The theme of the work camp was Sustainable Agriculture, Yoga, Culture & Kids.
In the month of September 2017, FSL-India, Kundapur hosted 24 Long-Term Volunteers from Sweden and Germany, at our CEL (Centre for Experiential Living), Kundapur.
Members of FSL-India’s Youth Development Program (YDP) helped a Naxalite affected school in Kapsi, Chattisgarh set up a library.
On the 13th of September, Mr. Martin Rohlmann, Cultural Officer and Mrs. Sujata Sundaram, Officer – Economic Affairs and PR, from the Consulate General of Germany, Bangalore visited FSL-India, Bangalore.
In this camp, FSL-India had 6 international volunteers from different parts of the world, i.e. England, Italy, Belgium, Canada, South Korea and the Russian Federation. The volunteers worked with GHNP officials in Sainj Wildlife Range, at an eco village called Rapa, from 10th August-28th September, 2017.

These 3 weeks (12th July-2nd August 2017) started with many expectations, excitement and lots of energy to work, learn and help a bit in the local community. Of course, the expectations we had were totally wrong, and India had way more things to offer as we could have ever imagined.
It is a great pleasure for FSL-India to let everyone know that Shri Pramodh Madhvaraj, our Honourable Minister for Youth Empowerment & Sports, Karnataka, visited us on Thursday 7th September 2017, at our Centre for Experiential Living, Kundapur.

Here we are with some updates on a new plantation in the community through the initiative called ‘Trees for India’. Through this program, FSL-India aims to do plantations in the local community, while these plantations are sponsored by others.
