During the last few years, FSL-India has been handling the CSR projects of Apollo Foundation at Tamil Nadu and are very close to successful completion of the current project started in 2016, in the context of women’s health.
The new initiatives will take forward the health issues of women and adolescent girls, particularly menstrual hygiene.
In this context, at Sennakuppam village, FSL-India conducted a survey of approx. 246 families. From these families, their knowledge, attitude and practice were assessed. The results of the survey show that 30% of the women are using cloths and not sanitary napkins. The knowledge/awareness level is quite low. The practice of burning of napkins is also moderate. This initiative aims to make considerable positive changes among the women and adolescent girls in the village.
