On 26th August FSL-India Training centre team initiated program on Health & hygiene in Adolescence.
The program held with collaboration of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University at FSL-India Shetrakatte training centre, 27 children from Navidita high school Basrur participated.The program begin with lighting the lamp by Dr. Thippeswamy – Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Social Work KMC Manipal and brief introduction about the program by Mr. Jeevan.
Session started with introduction of participants & needs assessment. During the Health & Hygiene session they also conducted session on Stress Management, time management & Study skill through group activity, group discussion, presentation, videos. Sessions are very interactive and informative, children gained more knowledge about these topics and which will help children in their future. In the begging of the session children are so shy to express their opinions and involving and later started contributing to the session by asking questions, interaction, discussion.
Children shared that its a first time they are having session on these topics and its a very helpful session for them and they actively involved in session, interacted with facilitator and clarified their doubts. Now a days its very important for adolescents to get information about health and hygiene and which will help them to resolve many problems in adolescence and to be safe and healthy in life. This program will be continue with other high school students in future.
