Celebrating the Independence Day at Tent School, Yedthady!

The Yedthady Tent School children have been extremely enthusiastic for the Independence Day celebration. The celebration commenced with hoisting of the National Flag followed by singing National Anthem.


The National Song “Vande Mataram” was also sung along with chants of Patriotic slogans in praise of Mother India. celebrating-the-independence-day-1The children were given sweets for the occasion.

Thereafter, games and activities special to the occasion were carried out. Pin the Chakra was the first game played, where the participants are blind-folded while trying to pin the chakra exactly at the centre of the tricolor flag. Second activity was choreographing simple steps of different Indian dance forms to give a glimpse of Indian Diversity.

And finally a running race relay with the flag. The celebration was a grand success because of the enthusiasm and dedication of tent school children, teachers, German long term volunteer and YDP volunteers.
