In the month of July 2016 FSL India Kundapur has hosted two Long Term Volunteers from two different Nationalities i,e. Czech Republic and Italy.
Volunteers have gone through different sessions to be well prepared for rest of their successful journey in India.Regarding orientation, we had developed the activities we usually carry out during the orientation week, such as Indian welcome, expectation and fear conflict in communication, Safety, Understand cultural indicator, Introduction about FSL India, Indian lifestyle, Soci
al concerns of India, project information, Indian pedagogy, volunteer’s role and responsibility, Hindu philosophy & a small tour of training centre and SAP-K. Facilitators also introduced some of the Play for Peace activities and the volunteers really had fun. Overall we feel our volunteers will keep up their volunteering spirit with them to bring in changes in their life as well as others life. We also hope that they will carry the same excitement throughout their Voluntary Service.
We all LTV staff, consider this orientation to be a success. Moreover, according to the volunteer’s feedback, we have received positive comments. As there were only two volunteers, our staff spent most of their time with them, to make them feel comfortable. Everything worked well and we are really satisfied with our work and results.
