On Tuesday 23rd February, around 50 students and teachers from Green Valley National School Shiroor visited FSL Training Center in Kundapur to learn more about how they can get active in protection of the environment.
After formal introduction session started with energizers to break the ice and make the kids ready for the upcoming sessions. In the first session Mr. Jeevan explained, what FSL India is all about,LTV projects, HBP projects Etc. After that we had a tour in SAP-K area and explained students about the activities implemented in training center.. Many of the kids showed a lot of interest in our work and are planning to join some work camps in their upcoming holidays.
Later, HBP volunteers Marina and Elisa, hold a presentation about waste management in Germany and how the students can improve the waste management in their homes. The morning session was rounded up with a small quiz and game about recycling, where the kids had to get active themselves.
After the lunch break the session went on with an active game called “A to Z”. Here, the students were separated into five groups and under the control of a Volunteer as their team leader, had to find one waste or natural item for every letter in the alphabet. After they finished this task they had to make an environmental-related collage with the items they had collected.
After this we finished the session with a discussion, where the kids were able to give their feedback about the day. All students and school staff enjoyed and also learned about protection of environment from todays visit to TC.
We are happily looking forward to the next programs with Green Valley National school.
