LTV-Orientation in Kundapur, August It is a festival season in our Youth Training Center in Kundapur for a week. FSL India has hosted 72 Long Term Volunteers from 4 different countries (Germany, France, Italy and USA) This was the entry for 2 sponsored volunteering programs called BMZ and IJFD, which includes 63 German young volunteers.
Volunteers have gone through different practical, theoretical and outdoor sessions for their successful journey in India. All the volunteers actively took part in each session. The team of FSL India facilitators has taken extra care in organizing this orientation week. Some sessions include conducting activities in projects, country presentation, conflict management, roles and responsibilities, understanding peace, Hindu philosophy, Culture and Indian life style and project introduction and preparation with the Coordinators.
Host families were invited to share their experience of hosting volunteers and to talk about the daily life in Indian family. Besides some of our old long term volunteers talk about their experience in India. Overall we feel our volunteers will keep the volunteering spirit with them to bring changes in their and also in others life and will carry the same excitement throughout the stay. Every evening we have organized different events for the exchange of ICL(intercultural learning). First day was, all the volunteers had chance to have Henna, then in next days volunteers did country presentation in 4 different schools and excursion on the week end.
