Sea Turtle Conservation Work Camp at Kundapura

Innovative Activity to Improve Skills of the Volunteers during the Work Camp

SONY DSC2Looking at the skills of the volunteer and eager to learn new things, the project team came out with a new activity while building TIC of sea turtle project. The volunteers demonstrated on weaving of the coconut leaves which was used for TIC construction during the camp. Local resource person from the village explained each and every step in the activity and volunteers quickly picked up the skill and started weaving more than 60 to 70 leaves in a camp. They were happy to gain the new skill. After that there beach-walk along with Trasi beach and contact local fisher man and woman highlighting importance of protection of sea turtles. Each TIC had four flags to make it attractive and visible.
