Since the beginning of June to till now FSL saved 5 injured sea turtles under the project area. Out of 5 protected turtles 3 are Olive Ridleys and 2 Green Turtles. On 27th of June our sea turtle co-ordinators Dinesh and Austin rescued a wounded green turtle and taken it to Dasi Kharvy for neccessary treatments, which increased the number up by 5 in six weeks. Becuase of the roughness of sea water all the turtles are now in Dasi Karvy’s observation and soon it will be realesed to the sea.

Hi, Hola, Ciao, Coucou
The sweet small Kundapur town is providing the warm experince for the international volunteers from Austria, France, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and South Korea. The July month orientation has started on 6th of Monday with 14 lovely enthusiastic volunteers. The volunteers participation in each session is admirable. They are competing with heavy rain by their participation. FSL team has full confidence towards the new comers who can attain voluntary service goals. We wish all the best for achieving their goals.
A year is finished with our first batch of BMZ volunteers Ivo, Martin, Lucas, Cornelius, Susanne, Juliane, Mareike and Mario. The seminar was held in the beautiful Small House on 2nd and 3rd of July. This seminar was the opportunity to greet them for their efforts and to collect their final impression. Everybody was happy to make a review of their one year stay and could enjoy a nice farewell party. They could express their feelings and feedback concerning their projects, their personal development and the reverse culture shock they will have to front when back in Germany. We wish them all the best in their future studies in Germany. As much as we are sad to let them go we are happy for their family in Germany.

Apsara konda (Apsarakonda) is a small village near Honnavar, town in North Kanara district. Six km from Honnavar, is situated the Apsara Konda Falls. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honavar
You can see a picture of the falls : http://gallery.holidaymakers.in/v/album02/Waterscapes-Karnataka/apsara-konda-honnavara.JPG.html
I had been there last week and felt a urge to just jump in and take a dip. It is situated in a serene environment of green tropical forest. Just above is the is the Narasimha temple, if you follow the steam after the falls you will end up in a lush green paddy fields just before the white sandy beaches of Honnavar. There is a small trail behind the temple that takes you above the hillock, where the forest department has build a small pagoda. Here, you can see very unique view of green paddy fields, long stretch of sandy beach, the ocean and the rock face of a mine. It is really worth it.
